Thermal Diagnostics, known better to most people as Infrared (or IR), is not a new field but for the first time in history it has become accessible to the average person. Temperature variations as small as 0.05C can be seen and can reveal problems not visible through observation of the normal light spectrum. These issues can include voids in the insulation applications, hot spots in the electrical system, and even wet areas.
There are many camera manufacturers and many models flooding the market with low cost devices that can create a thermal image. NOT ALL OF THESE CAN BE USED FOR BUILDING DIAGNOSTICS.
James Buren uses the FLIR E40 camera to ensure that your infrared images exceed minimum performance standards. Images can only be interpreted by a Trained Thermographer. Training at SNELL Canada has been completed by James and combined with over 25 years of inspection experience, and his Energuide program development experience, this tool will help with your building inspection advantage.
